Eligible Sponsors |
Eligible sponsors for the Child Migration Scheme include Australian citizens or permanent residents who are settled in Australia and who have one of the following relationships to the child: |

A natural parent whose name appears on the child's birth certificate; |

An adoptive parent recognized under Australian law; |
|
A step-parent who is currently married or widowed to the child's natural or adoptive parent; |
|
The partner of a provisional spouse visa holder who is the child's natural, step or adoptive parent. |

The above points have been simplified for the purpose of providing general information. Please note however that these relationships may not be recognized, or fall under scrutiny, particularly in instances where there may be multiple parents due to previous relationships, or where custodial factors have to be taken into consideration. |
