Employer Eligibility |
To be an eligible sponsor, the employer must be able to demonstrate that they are:

Actively and lawfully operating a business in Australia; |
 |
Seeking to fill a genuine job vacancy; |
 |
The direct employer of the applicant; |
 |
Able to meet financial obligations as set out by the Department of Immigration; and |
 |
Able to meet the training benchmarks as set out by the Department of Immigration (ie. by paying the equivalent of at least two per cent of recent payroll expenditure to an industry training fund or by providing evidence of spending the equivalent of one per cent of payroll on training for their employees who are Australian citizens or permanent residents). |
