Contributory Parent Visas

Please note that the number of permanent parent visas issued each year is very limited due to the fact that Australia already has a large ageing population. This has lead to increasingly long processing periods where persons applying for standard Parent Visas can now expect to wait up to 10 years before being granted permission to migrate to Australia.
Contributory Parent Visas have the advantage of being processed relatively quickly (1.5 to 2 years) however the Department of Immigration requires that all parent applicant's pay a non-refundable health bond charge of AUD$32,725 before being granted the permanent visa. |
Due to the considerable costs and/ or processing delays associated with permanent parent visas, the Australian Migration Advisory recommends that applicants consult with an experienced Migration Agent before proceeding. |
