Skilled-Regional Sponsored Visa

To be eligible for the Skilled-Regional Sponsored visa, the primary applicant must be able to satisfy the basic threshold criteria and achieve a minimum of score of 100 points on the points test score. Please note that applicants must also be eligible to receive sponsorship from a relevant State or Territory; or a direct family member who is either an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident.

Unlike the Skilled-Sponsored Visa, applicants receive additional points toward their overall points test score if their sponsor resides in a regional area of Australia. Please note that this is only a temporary visa, however it does allow applicants to remain in Australia for a period of 3 years in order to satisfy criteria needed to become eligible for Australian permanent residency.
